Imperium, a UK-based tech recruitment firm, sought out Fifty Five and Five as they embarked on a comprehensive rebrand. Their decision to transition from a traditional recruitment model to specialising exclusively in tech-scale ups, with an innovative AI twist, signalled a significant shift in their business strategy. Naturally, this transformation called for a fresh look and feel that would set them apart as the 'new kids on the block' in the industry, in the new name of talent.ai.


The brief presented a compelling challenge: transition from a neutral, inoffensive brand to one that has distinctiveness and competitiveness. Our task was to craft a visual identity that not only captured the talent.ai approach but also resonated with tech professionals and enthusiasts alike.

The brief presented a compelling challenge: transition from a neutral, inoffensive brand to one that has distinctiveness and competitiveness. Our task was to craft a visual identity that not only captured the talent.ai approach but also resonated with tech professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Repositioning talent.ai as a disruptor provided us with a unique opportunity to unleash our creativity and redefine the expression of their identity. While aligning with the tech space and pushing the boundaries of traditional friendly recruitment aesthetics, we embarked on an creative journey to carve out a distinctive visual identity that would make a statement.


During the initial stages of development, we delved into bold combinations, allowing us to experiment with a host of palettes, icons, and textures. This freedom enabled us to discover exciting and fresh new looks to fit the mould of disruptors.

At the heart of the identity lies the disruptor icon. When combined with another, it creates a dynamic symbol of connection and integration, telling the story between recruiters and candidates, seamlessly embedding individuals into businesses. This combination, formed by the intertwining of two disruptors, serves as the linchpin of the primary logo.


Sohne, chosen as the primary typeface, lightens the identity with a sense of sophistication and formality.


To complement the disruptor theme, we embraced a vibrant colour palette dominated by bright purple and pink hues, balanced with a dark blue. Strong geometric shapes were incorporated as detail elements, lending a distinctly tech-inspired aesthetic to the design and used to help emphasise key information.


Photography played a pivotal role, featuring individuals from the tech recruitment sphere overlaid with glitch textures, adding a unique touch that embodies the essence of talent.ai.


Additionally, a set of custom icons were developed to enhance consistency across collateral.

In tandem with the identity overhaul, we embarked on the creation of a brand-new website. One that resonated more deeply with the tech industry compared to its predecessor. Beyond merely serving as a recruitment platform, the repositioning of the business prompted a strategic shift towards promoting their expertise in tech news and knowledge.


The goal was to establish talent.ai as an accessible resource for candidates, recruiters, and tech enthusiasts alike. To achieve this, we devised an innovative approach centered around interactivity and engagement. At the heart of the homepage lay an interactive map, allowing visitors to explore the breadth of talent.ai's work through clickable actions. These actions showcased their case studies, active cities, and latest tech news (blog posts), with the intention of seamlessly driving traffic from social channels to showcase the depth of their expertise and engagement within the tech community.
